17 May, 5:00 pm Teatro Amadeo Roldán Opening gala with the performance of the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Cuba, cionducted by Guido López-Gavilán. Special guests: José Antonio López (guitar) and Edwin Colón Zayas (cuatro), from Puerto Rico, and the outstanding Cuban tres player, Pancho Amat.

23 May, 8:30 pm Teatro Karl Marx: Gala in honour of Puerto Rico with the performance of musicians from that country as well as Cuban bands.

24 May, 5:00 pm Teatro Amadeo Roldán Closing gala of the 2009 Cubadisco Festival with the performance of the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Cuba, conducted by Enrique Pérez Mesa. Special performances by the Puerto Rican singer Danny Rivera and the Cuban pianist Frank Fernández.
